OnePlus India launch date has been confirmed for May 14. This year OnePlus will release two phones – the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro – and the Pro will have a true flagship price. The teaser announcing the launch date didn’t reveal much but pointed to a notch-free display.

However, minutes after youtube premiere, the company shared more details in a press mailer. The OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro launch event will kick start on May 14, at 8:15 pm. It is for the first time, OnePlus will hold product unveiling in India, the US, and Europe at the same time.

In India, the event will be held in electronic city Banglore. Apart from Media attendees, OnePlus fans are also welcomed to witness the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 launch. The company will be selling the launch event entry vouchers at oneplus.in starting at 10 am on April 25.

Earlier OnePlus Co-founder Pete Lau talked about the new screen technology the company has invested in for the display used on the ‘Pro’ variant. The alleged 2K panel with a 90Hz refresh rate will be the star attraction.

OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro Features

With the 7 Pro, OnePlus will directly compete against the likes of Samsung and Huawei. The area where it believes it can best other flagships is the screen.

For now, OnePlus has officially hinted the use of 2k (super crisp) and high refresh rate screen (smooth) on the Pro model. Pete Lau also claimed that the display costs thrice as much as other flagship displays.

Thanks to CAD renders, case leaks, etcetera surfaced online in the past couple of months, we have a pretty good idea of what’s coming.

Expected features include a pop-up selfie camera, Snapdragon 855 (obviously), Triple cameras and Stereo speakers on the 7 Pro,  up to 12GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage. OnePlus is also rumored to bring in UFS 3.0 storage.
