OnePlus is expected to release its second-generation Buds Z TWS earbuds soon. New leaks for these accessories hint at a considerable increase in total battery life, slated to reach up to 18 more hours between charges. The noise-canceling feature of the Buds Z2s can only be turned off when this function is disabled.

The company’s latest wireless earbuds are just around the corner, as a new spec leak and series of renders show off the upgraded Buds Z2.

In addition to the features found in the more expensive OnePlus Buds Pro, the new Z2 model is said to offer seven hours of listening time per bud and 38 hours with the charging case, active noise cancellation (ANC), Bluetooth 5.2, and IP55 water and dust resistance.

Noise cancellation was previously exclusive to the higher-end Buds Pro, which cost $150 / £140.

According to initial reports, OnePlus was working on a pair of Buds Pro ‘Lite’, but considering the obvious feature parity expected on the Z2, it seems the company has decided to bring that level of offering to the Z line rather than the Lite.

The specs leaked suggest that the earbuds themselves will shrink slightly, while the charging case should only see slight changes. The earbuds will move from 37.98 x 23.35mm to 33 x 22.44mm, while the charging case will move from 75 x 35.9 x 29.05mm to 73.15 x 36.80 x 29.70mm.

There is no word yet on pricing, but considering the original OnePlus Buds Z retail for just $50 / £55 with discounts readily available, we don’t expect the Z2 to cost much more. The Buds Z2 are also said to launch in black and white, whereas the standard Zs only come in white.
