At around ₹4,000, you usually expect some sort of compromise. Maybe the ANC is just decent, maybe the controls are basic, or the app experience ends up being annoying. The OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro don’t really play by those rules. They bring in a bunch of features that you normally see in higher-priced earbuds, and more importantly, most of it actually is useful in day-to-day use.
I’ve been using these for calls, music, workouts, and switching between multiple devices, and compared to something like the realme Buds Air 8, these feel more complete. Better controls, better software experience, and more features overall. Let’s get into it.

OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro Review: Sound

The Nord Buds 4 Pro use a 12 mm titanized dynamic driver, and right out of the box, the tuning is very bass-focused. You immediately notice that bloated mid-ass, and for most casual listeners, it might sound “energetic” (trust me, I’ve asked friends about this). That said, the bass feels a bit too forward for me.
You do get multiple EQ presets like Balanced, Serenade, and Bass. Balanced is the default which leans towards the mid-bass, while Serenade sounds cleaner and works better for vocals. If you want full control, the 10-band EQ is where things get interesting. You can tweak things properly here, to your own taste.

BassWave is also there if you want even more low end, though it’s best to keep it in check. And yes, all of these observations are on the LHDC codec.
Under the hood, the earbuds cover a wide 20 Hz to 40 kHz frequency response range, with a driver sensitivity of 122 dB and an impedance of 28 Ohms. Still, compared to the realme Buds Air 8, these sound more refined and give you better control over tuning.
OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro Review: Design and Fit

The case design is a bit different this time. It’s more squared instead of the usual rounded look, and it’s compact in hand. The matte finish is nice, which means it doesn’t pick up fingerprints easily.
In terms of size, the earbuds measure 31 mm x 20 mm x 17.52 mm, while the charging case comes in at 60 mm x 49.64 mm x 25.04 mm, which keeps it pocket-friendly.

You get an LED on the front, while the USB Type C port and pairing button are at the bottom. The hinge is solid, and the magnets are strong enough that the earbuds snap into place properly every time. It’s also easy to remove the earbuds with one hand.

The case weighs about 34 grams, with the total package around 43 grams, so it’s not too bulky in the pocket. The earbuds themselves are lightweight at around 4.4 grams each. The fit is secure and comfortable, even for longer listening sessions or workouts. I didn’t have to keep adjusting them, which is always a good sign.

Wear detection works as expected. Remove an earbud, and the music pauses. Put it back in, and it resumes. You also get IP55 rating on the earbuds, so sweat and light splashes are not an issue. The case doesn’t have any official rating though.
OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro Review: App and Features

This is where these earbuds really stand out. On OnePlus and OPPO everything is built directly into the Bluetooth settings, which makes it feel very seamless. You can also have the control widgets here. On other devices, you use the HeyMelody app, and thankfully, there are no ads or forced sign-ins.
You get full noise control options with ANC, transparency, and off modes. OnePlus 3D audio is also there with basic options like off and fixed. It works, but it’s not something you’ll use all the time.

The Sound Master EQ includes BassWave and a full 10-band EQ, which gives you proper flexibility. This is something you don’t usually see at this price.

Controls are excellent. You get single tap, double tap, triple tap, press and hold, and swipe gestures. The swipe for volume control is really one of the best things here. Once you get used to it, you don’t want to go back.
There’s a lot more packed in: Spotify Tap, voice assistant support, camera controls through gestures, Find My Earbuds, firmware updates, and auto play or pause with wear detection.
AI features like face-to-face translation and live translation are also included on supported OnePlus devices. They work as expected and can be useful in specific situations.

Dual device connection works well, and the new preferred device feature makes switching much smoother. You can also pair multiple devices, but only use two at a time.
Game mode is here with low latency around 47 ms. In supported games like BGMI, Free Fire, and Call of Duty, you get enhanced sound cues like footsteps and gunshots, which usually helps.

On the technical side, the earbuds support LHDC 5.0, AAC, and SBC codecs, along with standard Bluetooth profiles like HFP, A2DP, and AVRCP, and maintain a stable connection within a 10 meter range.
This is easily one of the most feature-packed earbuds in this segment.
OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro Review: Microphones and Calling

Call quality is solid. The triple microphone setup on each earbud, along with AI noise reduction, keeps your voice clear in most situations. Wind noise suppression works pretty well up to around 25 km per hour, which is noticeable when you’re outdoors. Traffic noise is reduced quite a bit, though in very noisy areas, some background sound still comes through. Overall, it’s fine for calls.
OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro Review: Connectivity

Bluetooth 6.0 keeps the connection stable. Pairing is quick, and the earbuds reconnect instantly when you take them out of the case. The connection remains stable within a typical 10 meter range without noticeable dropouts.
Google Fast Pair and Windows Swift Pair are supported, which makes things easier across devices. Dual device switching works properly once set up, and the preferred device option helps avoid random switching.
OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro Review: Noise Cancellation

ANC goes up to 55 dB with support for a wide frequency range, and it actually performs very well for this price. Background noise like traffic, fans, and general outdoor sounds get reduced to a good extent.
You get multiple levels like mild, moderate, and high. The high mode works best in most situations and doesn’t feel uncomfortable. You can also set it to automatically adjust the ANC level based on the current environment.
Transparency mode works as expected. It lets outside sound in naturally, which is useful for conversations or when you need awareness. It can also switch automatically when you remove one earbud. It’s definitely not great, but it works.
OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro Review: Battery and Charging

Each earbud has a 62 mAh battery. You can get up to 13 hours without ANC and around 7 hours with ANC. In real-world mixed usage, it’s closer to 8 hours, which is still very solid. Calls drain the battery faster, usually under 5 hours.
The case has a 530 mAh battery (around 2.06 Wh). Total playback goes up to 54 hours without ANC and around 26 hours with ANC and LHDC enabled.
Charging takes about an hour for the earbuds and roughly 90 minutes for the full setup with the case. A quick 10-minute charge gives around 13 hours of combined playback with ANC off, which is very useful.
Review Verdict: Should You Buy the OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro?
If you’re looking for earbuds under ₹4,000 and you want strong ANC, proper controls, premium features, and a clean app experience, these are very easy to recommend.
You’re getting really good ANC, swipe volume controls that actually make a difference, a proper 10-band EQ, clean software with no ads, reliable battery life, and good call quality. The overall package feels polished and easy to use daily.
The sound is bass-heavy, which most people will enjoy, and with a bit of EQ tweaking, it gets better. The mid-range could be slightly better, and accidental touch triggers can happen sometimes, but these don’t take away from the overall experience.
Compared to the realme Buds Air 8, these feel more refined with better controls, better customization, and a much better software experience. If your budget is around ₹4,000 and you want a feature-packed pair of earbuds that doesn’t compromise on anything, just go ahead and buy the OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro.
