TL; DR
  • ChatGPT Go (₹399/month) will be free for all Indian users for one year starting November 4, 2025.
  • Existing subscribers will also get 12 months free, with redemption details coming soon.
  • The move supports OpenAI’s “India-first” strategy and aligns with the IndiaAI Mission ahead of DevDay Exchange in Bengaluru.

OpenAI has announced that it will make its ChatGPT Go plan completely free for Indian users for one year, beginning November 4, 2025. The offer applies to both new users and existing subscribers, as part of the company’s growing commitment to expanding AI access in India.

Normally priced at ₹399 per month, ChatGPT Go provides users with enhanced features compared to the free tier, including higher messaging limits and access to GPT-5. However, it does not include the full suite of research tools available in the higher-tier ChatGPT Plus (₹1,999/month) or Pro (₹19,990/month) plans.

Nick Turley, VP and head of ChatGPT at OpenAI, said, “Ahead of our first DevDay Exchange event in India, we’re making ChatGPT Go freely available for a year to help more people across India easily access and benefit from advanced AI.”
