TL; DR
- OPPO will add AirDrop compatibility to the Find X9 series through a Quick Share update arriving in March 2026.
- The feature will allow direct file transfers between OPPO phones and Apple devices without installing third-party apps.
- This update would replace OPPO’s earlier O+Connect solution, which required iPhone users to install an additional app. Though O+Connect can still be used for other connectivity features.
OPPO has announced that its Find X9 series will soon support file sharing with Apple devices through Google’s Quick Share system, enabling compatibility with AirDrop-style transfers. The feature will arrive as a software update rolling out in March 2026.
Once the update arrives, you’ll be able to send files such as photos, videos, and documents directly between OPPO smartphones and Apple devices including iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The transfer works locally and does not require installing any additional apps.

In its announcement, OPPO said the update focuses on improving cross-platform usability. The company stated that users will be able to “conveniently and securely transfer files between OPPO smartphones and iOS, iPadOS and macOS devices” without relying on third-party applications. OPPO said the capability was developed in collaboration with Google and MediaTek.

This change would replace OPPO’s earlier O+Connect system, which required iPhone users to download a companion app before transferring files with OPPO or OnePlus devices. With Quick Share integration, that extra step is no longer needed. Still, O+Connect will continue to be useful for other connectivity features with Apple products.

OPPO to become the first Android OEM beyond Google to implement AirDrop support

Google first introduced AirDrop interoperability through Quick Share on the Pixel 10 series, and confirmed plans to expand the capability across more Android devices in 2026. OPPO becomes one of the first major Android manufacturers beyond Google to adopt the feature.
The update will initially apply to the Find X9 (review) and X9 Pro (review), which launched globally in late 2025. We expect this to extend to upcoming devices in the lineup, including the Find X9s, which is expected to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset and is scheduled to launch in India soon.
