At the moment, the update is only meant for developers in India. You will also have to install the update manually using local install. The update is intended for developers only, as you’ll not receive any OTA updates after installing the software. So, if you are willing to take the risk and install the Android 15 Beta on your Realme 12 Pro+, read on.

Known Issues

Before you get too excited, here are a few things that you need to keep in mind:

  • You may lose your data.

Android 15 Beta on realme 12 Pro+: What’s New?

Since this beta is primarily intended for developers to optimize their apps, there aren’t many features to talk about. Realme has explicitly stated that the Android 15 Easter Egg is not included in the update. However, there are a few new features. Here are some shared by Abhinav on X:

1. Video Battery Saver

This feature optimizes video player apps to reduce power consumption.

2. Realme Share

Realme’s version of Google’s Quick Share that can transfer files to nearby devices.

3. Repair Mode

realme has added a new Repair Mode that hides your personal information from the repair technician while allowing them to access basic functions for troubleshooting.

4. RAM optimization: The system automatically compresses the memory usage of background apps to free up RAM for other apps or games.

And for those wondering, the Quick Settings menu is still the same as Android 14.

Android 15 Official Version Rollout

Realme has clarified that this beta will not receive further updates and is solely for developer testing purposes. Once Google releases more beta updates, Realme will commence testing the public beta of Android 15.

The stable Android 15 update based on Realme UI 6.0 will be released after Google’s stable Android 15 update, which is expected to be in October 2024. If you choose to install this developer beta, you’ll need to roll back to the official version to receive the stable Android 15 update on your Realme 12 Pro+ when it’s eventually released.

That concludes the Android 15 Beta update for the Realme 12 Pro+. What do you think of the update? Do you think Realme will be among the first to roll out Android 15 officially? Let us know in the comments section below.
