Redmi Note 12 5G Series India launch confirmed for January 5: Teaser poster unveiled

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has confirmed the India launch of the Redmi Note 12 5G Series of smartphones. Xiaomi launched Note 12 Series in China earlier and now it is arriving in India on the 5th of January. The Redmi Note 12 Series in India is expected to include at least 3 models- Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ smartphone is expected to feature a 200MP main camera sensor.

Since the Note 12 Series has already launched in China, we have an idea about the specs and features of the devices.

Redmi Note 12 5G: Specs

The Redmi Note 12 sports a 6.67-inch Samsung GOLED FHD+ display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout for a selfie snapper. It is powered by Snapdragon 4 mobile platform with an octa-core chipset and runs Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box.

The smartphone packs a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The rear camera setup includes a 48MP main and a 2MP depth sensor. There is an 8MP selfie lens and connectivity options include 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging.

Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G: Specs

The China model of the Redmi Note 12 Pro flaunts a 6.67-inch FHD OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and 900 nits brightness. It is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset with up to 12GB RAM and is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging.

In terms of camera optics, the Redmi Note 12 Pro has a 50MP main camera at the back along with an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro unit, while the front has a 16MP selfie camera. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C charging. It runs MIUI 13 and features Mali-G68 GPU.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro comes in 4 storage configurations-

6GB RAM+128GB storage, 8GB RAM+128GB storage, 8GB RAM+256GB storage and 12GB RAM+256GB storage.

The top variant of the series also has a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and 900 nits brightness. It is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset with up to 12GB RAM and is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging.

The Note 12 Pro+ features a 200MP main camera at the back along with an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro unit. There is a 16MP selfie camera as well. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C charging. It runs MIUI 13 and features Mali-G68 GPU.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ comes in 2 storage configurations-

8GB RAM+256GB storage, 12GB RAM+256GB storage

It is expected to be priced at around Rs. 25,000 in India.
