Renault is all set to bring back the Duster to India later today. The company is hosting a launch event in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, where the French carmaker will unveil the popular C-segment SUV, which has been quite an anticipated launch for some time. The Renault Duster launch will be the first India-bound launch under Renault’s International Game Plan 2027, and will play a key role in establishing the brand’s future in India. So, with just a few hours to go for the Renault Duster launch, let us take a look at what we can expect from the new Renault Duster. Let’s go.

Renault Duster 2026 – Expected Price

While it is purely speculation, the Renault Duster is expected to be launched between the ₹10 lakh – ₹20 lakh price bracket. This is where all the major players in the C-segment SUV market play, so expect the Duster to also compete within this price range only.

Renault Duster – Exterior and Design

Now in terms of the design and styling, the Renault Duster will look similar to the global variant of the car, which comes with a rugged yet modern design. The car has an upright SUV-like stance with squared-off proportions, heavy claddings, and muscular lines and fenders. In terms of dimensions, the global variant of the Renault Duster is 4,300 mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,600mm in height. All this, with a close to 2,600 mm wheelbase.

From the front, we are expected to get sleek Y-shaped LED headlamps with Renault lettering across the front grille and a chunky front bumper, also with thick claddings to give it that rugged look. While the global Duster has these Y-shaped headlamps, teasers for India suggest eyebrow-style LED DRLs as well. The side profile of the car is the closest to the older Duster, with a familiar shape in the front, but the rear looks more boxy and thick due to the dual-tone claddings and the upright shoulder stance of the new car.

In the rear, we are expected to get similar C-shaped LED tail lamps and roof mounter spoiler, along with roof rails on the top. For the Indian variant, however, we are expected to get connected LED taillights. It is also said that the India-spec Duster will look quite different from the global spec, but all will be revealed in a few hours.

Renault Duster 2026 – Interior and Comfort

The new Renault Duster is also expected to get a modern interior design, but with rugged materials. The interior of the international-spec Renault Duster is offered in two options – all black and dual tone. The cabin is expected to get a layered look and a center console that is slightly angled towards the driver, along with hexagonal-shaped AC vents.

In terms of features, the new Renault Duster is expected to get a 10-inch infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, seat ventilation, a 360-degree camera, and Renault is also expected to bring ADAS to the Duster in India.

Renault Duster 2026 – Engine and Transmission

Now the global variant of the Renault Duster comes in multiple powertrain options – diesel, petrol, and hybrid. In India, however, reports suggest that we are only getting the petrol powertrain. Yes, India will only get the petrol, with the possibility of a diesel engine coming later if Renault decides to go ahead with it. We will, however, get the 1.3-litre HR13 turbo-petrol engine with a different tune for India.

There is also a possibility of the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine from the Renault Kiger to make it to the Duster, but if that happens, Renault will have to offer this with a power boost. Both petrol motors are expected to be powered by both manual and automatic gearboxes. Currently, there are no plans to bring a diesel variant of the Duster to India, but reports suggest Renault India is evaluating the possibility of bringing a hybrid version of the Duster.
