Finally, some good news for Samsung users as the South Korean tech giant is highly likely to integrate Qualcomm Snapdragon-only chipsets on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series. Although Samsung didn’t officially mention the extract, it was Ming-Chi Kuo, a popular Apple tipster, and analyst at TF International Securities thereby putting gravitas on the claims.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series to get Qualcomm-only SoCs

According to the series of tweets that Kuo posted just some time ago, Samsung is likely to use Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon chipset on the upcoming Galaxy S23 series scheduled to arrive early next year. Last year, the South Korean giant had a 70% market share of Galaxy S22 series devices powered by Qualcomm’s chipset while the rest were clung to flagship Exynos SoCs. However, it will be the only Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset in the upcoming Galaxy S23 series.

To explain why this particular move, Kuo pointed out how the upcoming Snapdragon SM8550 (which is likely to power the S23 series) has better performance than the Exynos 2300 SoC to launch next year. Although both the chipsets are made on a 4nm node, the Qualcomm Snapdragon SM8550 uses an optimized design rule from Chinese chipmaker TSMC which gives it better performance, power efficiency, and computing power than SM8450, SM8475, and the upcoming Exynos 2300.

Apart from the chipset situation, the upcoming Galaxy S23 series will get a 10MP front selfie shooter used in Galaxy S22 series. In fact, the same 10MP shooter was unveiled with Galaxy S10 and has continued its appearance throughout the series up till Galaxy S23 series. Although reports suggest it will have a 3x optical zoom, there’s a heavy inclination that we are talking about the same sensor that the S22 series used. However, there are also reports that states that Samsung will upgrade the front camera to 12MP with the Galaxy S23 series although it is best to take it with a pinch of salt.

Next up, we have the battery tech where Samsung is likely to make some advancements. Instead of using a method called jelly-roll for stacking batteries, it will reportedly use the method Samsung has been using in its Gen 5 EV batteries thereby giving it a much-needed boost across different parameters.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series release is still months later i.e. in January or February 2023, however, there are abundant reports that anyone can use along with references from its previous generations to decipher a somewhat convincing specs sheet. Watch out for this space as we will bring more updates about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series and more.
