TL; DR
- Good Lock’s QuickStar now supports One UI 8.5, unlocking deeper control over Quick Panel tiles.
- Users can resize tiles freely, tweak layouts in landscape mode, and customize sliders and visuals.
- One older grid-setting option is disabled for now in beta, with changes expected later.
Samsung has updated its Good Lock QuickStar module to officially support One UI 8.5, adding another layer of customization to the already redesigned Quick Panel. The update began rolling out this week and is currently visible on devices running the One UI 8.5 beta.
QuickStar builds directly on the new Quick Panel layout introduced in One UI 8.5, which already allows tiles to be rearranged, resized, and removed at a system level. With the updated plugin installed, users can now fine-tune nearly every element. Tiles can be resized more precisely, making it easier to emphasize frequently used toggles while shrinking those that are rarely touched.
The update also adds better handling for landscape orientation. When the phone is rotated, the Quick Panel adapts automatically, with sliders and controls shifting layout to fit the wider view. Manual editing in landscape is still limited in current builds, but the auto-adjustment keeps layouts usable without breaking custom setups.

Another addition is visual customization. QuickStar now allows custom images to be applied to Quick Panel items, letting users swap default toggle backgrounds with photos or icons. Sliders for brightness and volume also get more control, including clearer value displays and adjustable progress indicators.

There is one notable limitation. The older “change quick settings button grid” option inside QuickStar has been temporarily disabled in the One UI 8.5 beta. Samsung appears to have turned it off to avoid conflicts with the new native resizing system. It is expected to return in some form once One UI 8.5 reaches a stable release.
This leak also confirms the “Privacy display” feature of the S26 Ultra. It seems that users will be able to toggle the feature on and off as per their will. What are your thoughts on this feature, and QuickStar as whole? Let us know in the comments section below.
