Samsung brings Samsung TV Plus to India; How to get the free digital content service

Samsung has announced its digital content services in India that is popularly known as Samsung TV Plus. For the unversed, it is a free service available exclusively on Samsung smart TVs and Galaxy smartphones. 

The Samsung TV Plus is an ad-supported service that does not require any external device configuration to get started with. Unlike the other OTT subscriptions, Samsung TV Plus doesn’t ask for signup with email or credit card details either.

The service will be readily available on Samsung Smart TVs launched in 2017 or later and on Galaxy smartphones running Android 8.0 or newer. The TV service for mobile devices will start later in April and users will need to download the Samsung TV Plus app from Samsung Galaxy Store and the Google Play Store.

The Samsung TV Plus will allow users to watch select free live TV channels and content across the world without any paid subscription. Currently, there are only 27 channels available in India from genres like entertainment, news, sports, music, and travel. However, going forward, Samsung promises to bring more content partners on board. 

How to get started with Samsung TV Plus on Smart TV

Watching Samsung TV Plus is as easy as one can think. Here are a few steps to follow:

  1. Turn on your Samsung Smart TV. Make sure you have an active Internet connection.
  2. Download the Samsung TV Plus app on the TV.
  3. Find Samsung TV Plus at the bottom app bar of the TV screen.
  4. Now, click on the Samsung TV Plus app. Bang on, enjoy the free service.

With the launch of TV Plus in India, Samsung has expanded its digital content service to 14 countries including the US, Korea, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, and more. Samsung has a portfolio of over 800 channels in different countries across the world.
