1. Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

To kick off the list of smartphones launching in May 2025, we have one of the most-awaited launches of the year: the Galaxy S25 Edge. Despite having an ultra-slim design, the phone will offer flagship performance with top-tier hardware.

First and foremost, the handset features a 5.8 mm thin side profile and weighs just 163 grams, making it one of the lightest Galaxy S series flagships launched in recent years. Based on recent leaks, the phone may also feature a titanium frame and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front.

On the display front, we expect the Galaxy S25 Edge to ship with a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Under its shiny hood, the smartphone could feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which draws its power from a 3,900 mAh battery.

According to a new report from a Korean publication, Samsung may host a Galaxy Unpacked event on May 13, 2025, where the company could unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge. Following the event, the phone will be available for pre-order on May 14 and hit shelves in India on May 30.

Regarding pricing, the Galaxy S25 Edge could be positioned between the Galaxy S25 Plus and the Galaxy S25 Ultra, costing around Rs. 1.10 lakh in India.

2. Razr 60 & Razr 60 Ultra

Next up on the list of smartphone launches in May 2025 is Moto’s Razr 60 series. The latest clamshell foldables from the Lenovo-owned smartphone brand broke cover a few days ago. While the brand announced the Razr 60’s pricing and availability in global markets, an Indian launch is impending.

The Razr 60 series comprises two foldables: the standard Razr 60 and the Razr 60 Ultra. While the former features a 3.6-inch 90Hz AMOLED cover screen, the latter has a larger 4-inch 165Hz LTPO AMOLED cover screen.

Under the hood, the more affordable Razr 60 is powered by the Dimensity 7400X (4nm) chipset, while the Razr 60 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Elite (3nm) SoC. Regarding optics, both phones have dual-rear cameras, but the ultrawide sensor on the Razr 60 is a 13MP (f/2.2) shooter, while that on the Razr 60 Ultra is a 50MP (f/2.0) shooter.

While the Razr 60 Ultra features a 4,700 mAh battery that supports 68W wired and 30W wireless charging, the Razr 60 has a 4,500 mAh Si/C battery that supports 30W wired and 15W wireless charging.

Some rumors suggest that Motorola will launch the Razr 60 Ultra by mid-May, while the Razr 60’s launch will follow a week or two later, toward the end of the month. While the former may be priced around Rs. 90,000, the latter should cost around Rs. 60,000 (or less) in India.

3. OnePlus Nord CE 5

The OnePlus Nord CE 5 is also expected to come out sometime in May 2025. On April 15, we published an exclusive report about the handset’s first look, along with detailed specifications and expected pricing.

Unlike the rounded frame of the OnePlus Nord CE 4, the Nord CE 5 will feature a flat frame design. With an otherwise flat back panel, the handset features a pill-shaped camera island at the top left. We can’t help but notice how the phone resembles Apple’s iPhone.

Regarding its specifications, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 will sport a 6.7-inch 1080p OLED screen with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. Under its minimal exterior, the handset will feature the Dimensity 8350 chipset, powered by a massive 7,100 mAh battery that supports 80W wired charging.

With a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP secondary camera, and up to 256GB of storage, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 is expected to be priced under Rs. 25,000 in India.

4. Samsung Galaxy F56

Another smartphone that could launch between the middle and the end of May is the Samsung Galaxy F56 5G. A rebranded version of the Galaxy M56 5G, the Galaxy F56 5G will be available exclusively on the e-commerce platform Flipkart.

The handset should feature a 6.74-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the Samsung Exynos 1480 chipset, which features a 2.7 GHz prime core and offers 8GB of RAM, along with up to 256GB of storage.

Additional features include a triple-rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP front camera, a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Samsung could price the Galaxy F56 5G around Rs. 25,000 to 27,000.

The next entrant in our list of upcoming smartphones in May 2025 is the iQOO Neo 10. Rumors suggest that the handset could be a rebrand of the iQOO Neo 10 Pro, which features a 6.78-inch 144Hz LTPO AMOLED display, the Dimensity 9400 flagship processor, and a 6,100mAh battery that supports 120W wired charging.

In India, the iQOO Neo 10 is expected to have up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Lastly, the handset could feature a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 16MP selfie shooter.

We expect the iQOO Neo 10 to launch by the end of May 2025, probably in the last week of the month. It could be priced around Rs 40,000 in India, making it an affordable flagship phone.

6. realme GT 7

Most recently, the Chinese smartphone brand realme has launched the GT 7 handset in India, which is expected to feature the Dimensity 9300+ processor. According to the promotional material, the realme smartphone claims to be the first to offer six hours of stable 120 FPS BGMI gameplay, serving as the official Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2025 handset.

We expect the realme GT 7 to feature a 6.8-inch 144Hz OLED screen, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, and a massive 7,200 mAh Si/C battery that supports 100W fast wired charging. For sustained gaming performance, the smartphone should also have a vapor cooling system.

Additional features on the handset could include a triple-rear-facing camera, an IP69 dust and water resistance rating, an IR Blaster, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The realme GT 7 is expected to cost around Rs. 40,000 in India. The phone might debut with a realme GT 7T toward the end of the month, but we have little to no information about it at the moment.

The Poco F7 could feature a 6.83-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (4nm) processor, and up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in India. Regarding optics, the phone could pack a 50MP (f/1.5) primary camera and a 20MP (f/2.2) selfie camera. While the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro features a 7,550 mAh Si/C battery, Poco might size it down a bit for the Indian market.

We’re expecting the Poco F7 series to arrive in India by the end of the month.

8. Tecno Pova Curve 5G

To conclude the list of top smartphone launches in May 2025, we have the Tecno Pova Curve 5G. The company recently released a new teaser video through its official Reddit handle, confirming the handset’s moniker. The smartphone will feature a curved screen and a sleek side profile.

Another common thing in the teaser video and the image is the orange accent adjacent to what looks like the power button. Whether it’s the indicator of a new feature or it’s just there to elevate the phone’s aesthetics is something that we’ll find out soon. Some leaks and rumors also suggest the presence of a triple-camera setup along with an LED strip light around the camera housing.

Although there isn’t much information about the phone’s specifications, we’ve seen reports about how it can feature up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Finally, the Tecno Pova Curve 5G is expected to roll out toward the end of May 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.
