It goes without saying, but this is the company’s most significant Indian launch in years, even more important than the recent Seltos facelift, I’d say. It’s Kia’s first hybrid in the country and the first three-row ICE SUV. What is genuinely unique is the AWD-only pairing with the hybrid powertrain, something that remains unmatched in the segment the SUV is targeting.
As always, the Kia SUV is expected to be loaded with upmarket features such as a large instrument cluster and infotainment screen, ventilated front seats (possibly even rear?), panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS features. Of course, with all the added space and the features, the Sorento will sit above the Seltos in the company’s lineup.
The automaker has played really smart in deciding to manufacture the car locally in India. It goes without saying, but several CBU models remain a fantastic choice for buyers, though import duty pushes prices to an uncomfortable level. Rumors place the car in the ₹30-35 lakh (ex-showroom) ballpark. If that happens, the Sorento will undoubtedly be one of the most value-for-money options in the segment.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift

Maruti’s premium hatchback is due a mid-cycle refresh. First, Maruti Suzuki could replace the front grille with a chrome horizontal bar (similar to the Dzire already on sale), include a revised bumper design without fog lamps but with new LED DRLs, new alloy wheels on the side, and a simplified rear bumper.
Interiors could also get upgrades in the form of lighter, more premium upholstery and a bigger infotainment screen (with thinner bezels). However, the most important change could take place under the Baleno’s hood. The i20-rival is said to get the same 3-cylinder NA petrol engine that currently powers the new Swift and Dzire. While it improves the fuel economy, the engine lacks the refinement of a 4-cylinder oil burner.
What I’m concerned about is the price hike Maruti has already announced for the Baleno’s existing inventory. For the top-of-the-line Alpha models, the outgoing Baleno now costs buyers up to ₹30,000 more, something that the brand announced a few days ago. Combine that with the facelift premium Maruti will almost certainly ask buyers to pay, and buyers could end up paying as much as ₹40,000-₹50,000 more for the facelifted version.

BMW 7 Series Facelift & BMW i7 Facelift

However, a lot of that will depend on how the automaker prices the car. Depending on the value it offers, it could attract many i20 and Venue buyers or simply push sales of Kia’s Sonet and Seltos.
The Bayon will almost certainly launch in the Indian festive season, which begins in September and lasts until November this year. Nobody has a hard date yet, but Hyundai could announce the car in the coming weeks to build hype, inform buyers of a new option, and then release it in October 2026.
