TL; DR
- vivo’s teaser video highlights smoother animations and some other changes in OriginOS 6 for the global market.
- Global launch is on October 15, 2025, in Shanghai, replacing Funtouch OS on vivo and iQOO devices worldwide, with a beta preview already live in India.
- We are also expecting other features like a revamped control center, notifications, lock screen customization, and more to make it to India.
vivo has shared a teaser video across different social media platforms including X, showcasing its upcoming Android 16-based skin, OriginOS 6 (which is replacing the infamous Funtouch OS). The clip demonstrates smooth swipes, refined app transitions, and the tagline “Smooth at Origin.” The UI shows a new settings layout, new app icons, and a dedicated Files app replacing reliance on Google Files.
Unlike the Chinese variant, the global build in the teaser does not display a traditional bottom dock. Also, the font seems to be Roboto by default. The status bar also seems to have remained unchanged.
