TL; DR
  • Vivo Y51 Pro 5G launches in India at Rs. 24,999 with Dimensity 7360 Turbo.
  • The phone packs a 7,200 mAh battery with IP68, IP69, and MIL-STD-810H durability.
  • Two variants available on Flipkart and vivo’s website with cashback offers until March 16th.

Vivo’s Y-series naming requires a small spreadsheet to track, but the Y51 Pro 5G is easy to summarise: big phone, very big battery, durability story that punches above its price. Launching in India at Rs. 24,999, it succeeds last year’s Y51 Pro with a faster Dimensity 7360 Turbo chip, IP68 + IP69 dual water resistance, and a 7,200 mAh battery that matches iQOO’s Z11x.

Vivo Y51 Pro 5G: Price & Availability

Already on sale — no waiting for a flash sale countdown — via vivo’s website, Flipkart, and retail stores. Two variants:

Colours: Festive Red and Noble Gold; both names carry considerably more drama than the actual shades likely will in daylight. Worth checking the launch offers before paying full price: cashback of up to Rs. 2,500 (valid until March 16th), up to 10 months zero down payment with select banks, and Jio users get free premium access to 10 OTT apps for six months on the Rs. 1,199 prepaid plan.

Vivo Y51 Pro 5G: Key Specifications & Features

MediaTek’s Dimensity 7360 Turbo takes over from last year’s Dimensity 7300 — same 4nm process, nudged up to 2.5GHz, and honestly fine for what this phone is trying to be.

The display is a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD running at 120Hz with a 1,250 nits peak — TÜV Low Blue Light and flicker-free certified, which counts for something if you’re staring at it for four hours before bed.

Cameras are straightforward: 50MP main at f/1.8, a 2MP depth sensor (the most ceremonial camera in the smartphone industry, present everywhere, contributing to essentially zero memorable photos), and an 8MP selfie camera. All cameras record 4K video.

The 7,200 mAh battery is the phone’s clearest argument for itself — expect genuine two-day life for moderate users, the kind where you stop thinking about the battery entirely. Charging is 44W; functional, not fast.

Then there’s the durability angle, which is where this phone quietly makes a strong case — MIL-STD-810H covers multi-angle drop testing up to 1.7 metres, and the IP68 + IP69 dual rating handles both full submersion and high-pressure water jets.

That combination at Rs. 24,999 is not something most competitors bother with, and for anyone who’s ever watched a phone slide off a wet surface into something unforgiving, it matters. Rounding out the package: Android 16 with OriginOS 6, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and stereo speakers.

At Rs. 24,999, several phones offer an AMOLED display and a more versatile camera system but can’t match the Y51 Pro’s battery or dual water resistance.
