It’s not just Samsung and Motorola that launch foldable phones every year, Xiaomi follows the same ordeal. Turns out after launching the Mix Fold 2 last year, the Chinese smartphone maker is working towards launching a successor dubbed Mix Fold 3 this August. We just got some leaked specs and stuff fresh off the press.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 Specifications Leaked
According to the tipster Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 will pit against the likes of Oppo Find N2 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. It is expected to sport a curved glass body along with a quad-camera setup at the back with the best specifications in the market.
There’s a new waterdrop hinge onboard that is speculated to arrive with Galaxy Z Fold 5 as well. Xiaomi is working on keeping the device thin and lightweight like its predecessors.
Moving on, the phone will pack in the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood. There’s a 67W wired and 50W wireless charging tech that will be powering the 4,500mAh battery under the hood. On the optics front, we have two telephoto camera sensors. Here, one of the sensors is at 2x optical zoom while the other is a periscope sensor with 5x zoom onboard. The other two sensors are wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle snappers as usual.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is speculated to pack in UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5 RAM. The phone is likely to get an 8.02” foldable display and a 6.5” cover display both sporting an FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate as per a previous rumor. However, you must take it with a pinch of salt as there’s no word about camera sensors or the display size available for Mix Fold 3 at the time of writing this.
When it comes to the launch date, Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is expected to mark its debut in August this year if the tech giant follows the same timeline. Additionally, there’s a likelihood that Fold 3 won’t release outside China similar to the previous iterations.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 Specifications
The best way to contemplate what Fold 3 will bring to the table is to look at what Fold 2 brought onboard. Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 launched in August 2022 with an 8.02” 2K AMOLED and 6.56” cover display with a 20MP front, a triple 50+13+8MP with a 2x zoom camera setup. There’s a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, up to 12GB of RAM, and 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage. On the battery side, we have a 4500mAh battery pack flanked by 67W fast-wired charging tech.
