We all loved and treasured the Xiaomi’s Poco F1 from the time it hit the smartphone market. We were mind-blown by the perfect package of high-end specs at a low price. We coined it as the Budget Flagship phone of 2018. It showed us how pricey the flagship phones are. Even the Flagship killer, i.e., Oneplus 6T seemed a bit on the higher price bracket once this phone came to the picture. And now its successor is rumored to be launched in the not too distant future.

Yeah, the Poco F2 could launch in the coming year. The Poco India General Manager C Manmohan tweeted, “I have a surprise for all of you. A #NewPOCO is coming. Can you guess when?” This tease itself means a huge thing for the Poco fans.

However, this was just the 6GB + 128GB (Armoured Edition) of Poco F1. This wasn’t the first time we got a rumor about the launch of this smartphone. During the Flipkart’s Big Billion Day sale in October, the phone’s price was slashed. Within the assured buyback guarantee scheme, it was claimed that a buyback price of Rs. 14,700 will be given if the Poco F1 is exchanged for another Poco phone within 6 to 8 months of purchase. Now, this clause was enough to understand that a new Poco phone is speculated to launch within 8 months.

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco was launched in August as the Poco F1 powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, LiquidCool Technology, 6.16-inch display, 4000mAh battery with multiple RAM and Storage options. A phone priced starting at Rs 20,999 along with these specs was first of its kind. So, it became an overnight success thanks to the hype in the smartphone world surrounding it.

Since the first generation packed latest SOC in the market, we would expect Poco F2 to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset at least. Likewise, whatever high specs offered in the flagships of 2019, the same would be expected out of this upcoming phone. So, its quite obvious that the expectations are paramount with the next phone in the lineage.
