Xiaomi Redmi Y1

Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi, unveiled its first selfie-focused smartphone in India. Tagged as Redmi Y1, the phone is a rebranded model of Redmi Note 5A Prime and has the same hardware. The phone comes in two variants and will be available for sale in India from November 8 onwards. Starting with the cameras, the Redmi Y1 sports a 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash (Selfie-Light), and beautify 3.0 software support. While on the rear, we have a 13MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. As for the hardware, the Redmi Y1 flaunts a 5.5-inch 720p IPS LCD HD display. The chipset under the chassis is 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 435 chipset processor coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB onboard storage, which you can expand up to 128GB via microSD card. The software on the phone is well optimised with the company's custom ROM. Out of the box, Redmi Y1 will entertain you on Android Nougat based on MIUI 8, which will be upgraded to the latest MIUI 9. To keep the phone up and running is the 3080 mAh fast-charging battery. Other features on the Redmi Y1 include a fingerprint sensor - the rear panel, dual-sim 4G support, IR remote, Dedicated MicroSD card slot, and 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Redmi Y1 best priced in India at Rs 8,999 for 3GB/32GB variant and Rs 10,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant. The phone will initially be available on Amazon and Mi.com.
