2024 is gonna be a year of innovations for Apple as it has a lot of updated products up its pipeline. One such is the fourth-generation AirPods (or AirPods 4) which is incoming with new features and refreshed design. Unlike the previous AirPods 2 and AirPods 3, AirPods 4 will have two different models each priced differently creating a clear distinction between the two.

Unveiling the all-new AirPods 4 (2024)

In 2024, we will see AirPods 4 making its launch at two different price points. Yep, Apple is working towards creating two versions of AirPods 4 – one will be a budget-friendly with all major features while the second will be an advanced version with features such as ANC that you won’t find on the budget version.

According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, this is Apple’s effort to let consumers distinguish between cheaper and expensive models, unlike the predecessors.

With that being said, AirPods 4 will bring in an updated design including the charging case that’ll make a move from lighting to USB-C for charging purposes. The case will include speakers for Find My Alerts. The expensive variant will pick up Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a feature that has been limited to AirPods Pro.

The Cupertino-based giant will be pushing updates on the AirPods to make it an over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aid. It received an FDA approval in 2022 to operate as an OTC hearing aid alternative and thus, would act as same using software updates slated to arrive later next year.

When it comes to the launch date, AirPods 4 is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 16 series sometime in September 2024. An AirPods Max is probably in the pipeline too with limited colors and a USB-C charging port although we will have to wait for some more time to get a clear picture. It could arrive in 2025 with features such as health tracking and body temperature sensing to name a few.
