The Taiwan-based consumer tech brand Gigabyte has launched a new gaming monitor in India – AORUS CO49DQ. It comes with a large 49-inch curved OLED screen, in-built speakers, and an AI-based feature for preventing screen burn-ins. Here’s everything you need to know about the new gaming monitor from Gigabyte.

Gigabyte AORUS CO49DQ Gaming Monitor Specifications

The gaming monitor offers a screen estate of 49 inches. The OLED panel (with a 32:9 aspect ratio) has a resolution of 5120 x 1440 (DQHD) and a peak brightness of 250 nits. With a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1 and support for a 99 percent DCI-P3 color gamut (and 10-bit color depth), the monitor reproduces vibrant and accurate colors.

For gaming enthusiasts, the monitor features a 144Hz refresh rate and a response time of 0.03ms. According to the company, the 49-inch screen is equivalent to two 26-inch screens built on the 16:9 aspect ratio. The monitor features an 1800R curvature for an immersive experience while playing games or watching movies.

The monitor also houses two five-watt speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack for a wholesome multimedia experience. With the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, the monitor is fit for viewing and editing content with high dynamic range. Hence, those who record videos in HDR should expect the monitor to be able to play them.

For seamless connectivity, the monitor features two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, one USB-C port (power delivery up to 18W), two USB 3.0 downstream ports, and one USB 3.0 upstream port. It also houses a power supply unit (maximum input of 72W).

Additional features of the Gigabyte AORUS CO49DQ Gaming Monitor include the PIP/PBP ability, which allows users to view different video sources at the same time. The monitor relies on an AI-based algorithm to minimize the risks of burn-in issues. Then, a dashboard provides users with all the critical hardware information in one place.

Black Equalizer is yet another feature that deepens the details of the dark side of the scene without affecting other display areas. With Six-Axis Color Control, users can also adjust the colors red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, and yellow to their liking. Last but not least, the Auto-Update feature provides the latest OTA updates with new features.

Gigabyte AORUS CO49DQ Gaming Monitor Price And Availability

The new Gigabyte gaming monitor costs Rs. 1,29,000. Although the company has only announced the monitor, it will be available to purchase from April 31, 2024, via ll Gigabyte-authorized dealerships in the country.

The specifications and price clarify that the AORUS CO49DQ Gaming Monitor is not for everyone. It is a product for professionals, such as gamers, editors, designers, or 3D modelers, who require high levels of color accuracy and a better refresh rate.
