Vivo has officially unveiled OriginOS 6 in China, its most ambitious Android skin yet, alongside BlueOS 3 for smartwatches. The new operating system, built on Android 16, debuts with the Vivo X300 Pro and Vivo X300, and will gradually roll out to older Vivo and iQOO models in the coming months.
Packed with AI-powered photo tools, dynamic redesigns, and smoother system performance, OriginOS 6 looks like a major step toward blending intelligent features with refined design.

Live Photo AI Removal and More
At its annual developer conference, Vivo showcased how AI is now central to its software experience. The update introduces Live Photo AI Removal, allowing users to erase unwanted objects from photos and even moving Live Photos, a feature that rivals Google’s Magic Eraser and Apple’s Clean Up tool.
Other new AI tools include:
- AI Assistant for smarter voice prompts and summaries
- Circle to Search 2.0, letting you screenshot any object and ask the AI about it
- AI Image Editor to enhance photo resolution, erase backgrounds, and even convert images to PDF
In short, OriginOS 6 aims to make photo editing, searching, and multitasking feel almost magical.
A Fresh New Look
Vivo didn’t just stop at functionality it’s rethinking the look and feel of the entire interface.
OriginOS 6 features:
- Circular app icons and curved-edge widgets
- A resizable clock widget that adjusts dynamically with notifications
- Real-time and progressive blur effects for depth and motion
- The new “Atomic Island”, clearly inspired by Dynamic Island, offers quick controls for music, timers, and more
The design inspiration from iOS’s “Liquid Glass” aesthetic is hard to miss, but Vivo adds its own spin with more customization and fluid transitions.

Blue River Smooth Engine
Under the hood, Vivo has built an all-new “Blue River Smooth Engine” to supercharge performance. It uses super-core computing, dual-rendering architecture, and photonic storage to improve animation fluidity, touch responsiveness, and frame-rate stability.
According to Vivo, this results in a lag-free, ultra-smooth experience, especially noticeable when scrolling or switching apps.
