Qualcomm has always surprised its fans with the kind of chipset that it makes and the high-octane performance they offer. Recently, the brand refreshed the series number with the launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. It was succeeded by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor, which was seen in smartphones like the iQOO 9T, OnePlus 10T, etc. Now, the company is all set to unveil the successor of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

Speculations are that the processor will be launched in the month of November at the Snapdragon Summit. Talking about the event, the Snapdragon Summit is scheduled to be held in Hawaii between November 15 to November 17, 2022. Nonetheless, there has been no confirmation regarding the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC in the event. Still, we are assuming the same because its predecessor was launched around the same time last year. On top of that, Indian tipster Abhishek Yadav has also suggested that the processor could make a debut in the Snapdragon Summit 2022.

In the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, there were considerable heating and power management issues. Qualcomm improved that in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor. We are expecting that the latest processor from the brand will be better in terms of performance and caliber as compared to the other two available in the market.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC: What can we expect?

It is being said that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor will be based on the TSMC 4nm fabrication process. We can expect to see the chipset delivering peak performance and being energy-efficient at the same time. It most probably carries the model number SM8550. The processor will be accompanied by the Adreno 740 graphics processing unit (GPU). Keeping in mind the involvement of processors in flagship devices, the Geekbench scores suggest that it will offer around 15% better performance than its predecessor.
