To commemorate the 20th anniversary of its Bravia TV lineup, the Japanese entertainment giant Sony has released new models. The 2025 Bravia lineup includes the Bravia 8 II with a QD-OLED panel, the Bravia 5 with mini LED backlights, and the Bravia 2 II for those looking for an affordable Sony television. Besides the televisions, the company has also announced a new projector with 4K resolution and a few audio products.
Sony Bravia 8 II (Mark 2)

First and foremost, Sony has announced a new flagship QD-OLED TV, the Bravia 8 II. It takes after the Sony Bravia 8 but doesn’t replace it entirely, as the model will remain in sale.
When compared to the Bravia 8, the Bravia 8 II (Mark 2)’s 4K 120Hz QD-OLED panel offers 50% higher peak brightness (25% higher than the Sony A95L as well). Here’s how Sony has achieved that. The television is available in two screen sizes: 55-inch and 65-inch.
Instead of a regular OLED panel on the predecessor, the newer version relies on QD-OLED technology, which uses quantum dots to emit colors with more intensity and brightness than regular OLED panels.
Complementing the screen is a 2.2-channel speaker system that supports Dolby Atmos and DTS: X sound formats. Further, the television also gets the Acoustic Surface Audio+ feature, wherein it feels as if the sound is coming straight from the TV’s screen.

The panel supports HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision formats for viewing content with high dynamic range. Under the hood, the TV runs on Sony’s XR processor, unlocking features like 4K upscaling, motion processing, film-maker’s mode for accurate colors, etc.
Additional features of the television include HDMI 2.1 support (with eARC), Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth v5.3, and a built-in Chromecast.
Besides the Bravia 8 II (Mark 2), the company is releasing three more sizes to the Sony Bravia 8 lineup: 42-inch, 58-inch, and 83-inch. Besides, the Bravia 9 and Bravia 7 are also a part of the company’s 2035 TV lineup.
Sony Bravia 5

Unlike the flagship Bravia 8 II, which features a QD-OLED panel, the Sony Bravia 5 is a mid-ranger with a Mini LED LCD panel with 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It is available in five screen sizes: 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, 85-inch, and 98-inch.
With more dimming zones (up to six times) than its predecessor (Sony X90L), the Bravia 5 is better at managing blooming and backlighting, thanks to the XR Backlight Master Drive. The television also supports high-dynamic range formats like Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG.
Under the hood, the television also runs on Sony’s XR processor, which unlocks features like AI noise reduction (which appears to work well in the initial showcases by Sony), XR Trilumous Pro for vibrant picture quality, and Acoustic Multi-Audio speaker for a superior surround sound experience.

Connectivity options on the Sony Bravia 5 also include support for HDMI 2.1 ports (with eARC), Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth v5.3. Besides Bravia 5, Bravia 3 has also been brought up to the 2025 lineup.
Sony Bravia 2 II (Mark 2)

Out of the three televisions released in 2025, the Bravia 2 II (Mark 2) sits at the affordable end of the spectrum. With a 60Hz LED panel, Dolby Atmos and DTS: X sound support, and Sony’s X1 4K processor (which offers upscaling), the television suits users looking to enter into Sony’s ecosystem of home entertainment devices.
The Sony Bravia 2 II (Mark 2) is available in five screen sizes: 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch. Like all the 2025 models, the Bravia 2 II also uses Google TV based on Android 12.

Sony Bravia Projector 7

In addition to the new televisions for 2025, Sony has also released the Bravia Projector 7, which offers 4K resolution, supports 120Hz refresh rate, provides up to 2220 nits of brightness, and a standard lens. Given that the projector replaces the VPL-XW5000ES, it could be priced around the $6,000 mark.
In addition to televisions and the projector, Sony has announced two new audio products: the Bravia Theater Bar (3.1.2) with upward-firing speakers and the Bravia Theater System 6 (5.1) setup.
Prices for all the new products will be announced later this year.
