The Japanese tech giant Sony has launched the WF-C710N TWS ANC earbuds. When compared to its predecessor, the earbuds offer plenty of improvements, including improved sound quality, active noise cancelation, battery life, and colors.

Sony WF-C710N Key Features

First and foremost, the Sony WF-C710N feature 5mm drivers with Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) processing for clear vocals and powerful bass. To customize the sound profile according to their preferences, one can use the custom equalizer feature on the Sound Connect app.

With the Sony WF-C700N, users complained about how the active noise cancelation performed. However, Sony seems to have fixed the issue on the WF-C710N with dual microphones to detect surround noise. “Sony’s Dual Noise Sensor technology filters exterior sound using two microphones, leaving users to experience their music without distractions,” mentions the official press release. Even so, the company isn’t using special ANC processors from its expensive earbuds.

The microphones have also improved the ambient sound mode; users can now select from 20 levels of ambient sound or use the Voice passthrough setting.

Nonetheless, you still get the Adaptive Sound Control feature, which adjusts the listening experience based on the ambient sound levels. Those concerned about the microphone quality should know that the earbuds feature Precise Voice Pickup Technology, which uses the microphones to separate noise from conversations.

Sony WF-C710N’s predecessor could only provide up to 7.5 hours of listening time on a single charge (with ANC), but the latest TWS earbuds can do another hour with noise cancelation. The charging case’s capacity has also gone up from 15 hours to 30 hours. Together with the charging case, the new Sony earbuds can provide up to 40 hours of battery life (without ANC).

In addition to more listening time, Sony has also improved the quick charging feature on the device, which now offers 60 minutes of playback with just five minutes of charging.

Additional features on the Sony WF-C710N include an in-ear detection sensor (for pausing playback when you remove the earbuds), touch-based gestures for controlling playback and managing calls, and an IPX4 water-resistant rating that can withstand splashes. Last but not least, the device offers a dual-pairing feature.
