Reports claim that the HyperOS 2.0 is currently being tested in China on Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro devices. This testing will resolve any serious concerns that arrive before the public rollout takes place. Xiaomi HyperOS debuted in October last year and this year too Xiaomi 2.0 is expected to debut around October along with the Xiaomi 15 series of smartphones.

Initially, the Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 will be available for flagship devices of 2023 under the brands Redmi, Xiaomi, and Poco. Later it will roll out to mid-range and entry-level devices in 2025.

Features That We Wish Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 Gets

While we have talked about some confirmed new features, there are some we wish Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 gets.

Material You Theming

Since all the other Android skins like One UI or FunTouchOS have implemented Material You Theming, it is high time Google should also start doing it.

Lock Screen Widgets

Since Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 is taking inspiration from iOS, it can also bring lock screen widgets like a QR Code payment scanner for quick and easy online payments.

Customized Status Bar

The status bar should be customized to include options like showing/hiding various icons which will keep the status bar clean and make room for another important notification.

Detailed Battery Stats

There should be detailed battery health stats and health monitoring. This includes checking the last usage percentage, the time since the last charge, how much time the current charge will last, and more.

How many of these Xiaomi actually adopts, remains to be seen.
