Infinix has officially pulled the curtain back on XOS 16, its latest operating system built on the Android 16 foundation. The company has officially launched the update today, and it moves away from the visual noise of previous versions while leaning into a cleaner, “AI-first” direction.
Infinix says the interface feels more polished thanks to the new Glow-space concept (basically an attempt to copy Apple’s Liquid Glass). This visual design uses fluid animations and depth-based transitions, and transparency effects to make the software look more premium. Let’s take a detailed look at everything that’s new with XOS 16 and when you can expect the update on your Infinix phone.
1. AI-Generated Themes and Wallpapers

XOS 16 expands personalization beyond static wallpapers. Users can now generate full themes and wallpapers using generative AI. Infinix specifically mentions styles such as Anime-inspired art, playful Doodles, and AI-generated portraits too.

2. Lock and Home Screen Depth Effects

Infinix adds a Depth Effect that gives the lock screen and home screen a layered look. It can push things like the clock behind the subject in your wallpaper, so it looks more 3D. Yes, you can also add a depth effect to home screen wallpapers, with icons and widgets going behind the subject.
3. One-Tap FlashMemo
XOS 16 introduces FlashMemo, a one-tap shortcut for turning notes into actions. It can convert a note into a calendar event, a phone call, a navigation route, or a message draft.
4. Ask Folax

Infinix also makes its Folax assistant easier to use. With “Ask Folax,” you can save ideas or trigger tasks with one tap, without going through menus.
5. Mind Hub (The Personal AI Space)
Infinix adds Mind Hub, which works like a personal AI space. It collects your files, screenshots, and clippings in one place, then uses AI to organise them and give suggestions or summaries. Infinix’s idea is similar to OPPO’s Mind Space and Nothing’s Essential Space.
6. AI Writing and Suggestions
XOS 16 includes AI Writing, which helps you rewrite messages and captions more clearly. It also adds AI Suggestions, which learns your habits and surfaces apps you usually need at certain times.

7. Circle to Search
Infinix brings Circle to Search to XOS 16. You can circle anything on your screen, like a product in a video or a landmark in a photo, and Google will search it instantly without closing the app.

8. AI Studio (Eraser and Extender)
The gallery app gets AI Studio tools. AI Eraser removes unwanted people or objects from photos. AI Extender expands the borders of your photos using generative AI, filling in parts that were not originally captured.
9. AI Translate
XOS 16 adds AI Translate with real-time call translation. The feature translates both the user’s voice and the caller’s voice during live calls, supporting communication across different languages.
10. YouTube Summary and Video Battery Saver
XOS 16 adds a feature called YouTube Summary too, which gives quick highlights of long videos. Though this seems redundant as we already have the built-in Gemini summaries. What doesn’t seem redundant is the Video Battery Saver mode, which reduces battery drain while streaming without hurting visual quality.
11. Touch Transfer for iPhone

Infinix finally adds iPhone sharing through Touch Transfer. You tap your Infinix phone to an iPhone using NFC, and it shares photos and Live Photos instantly. It works without the internet, but the iPhone needs a companion app.
12. Bypass Charging and Battery Self-Repair
XOS 16 adds Bypass Charging for gaming while plugged in. The phone sends power directly to the motherboard, so it produces less heat. Infinix also adds Battery Self-Repair tech. The company says it slows down battery wear and can add 1 to 1.5 years to battery life.

13. Outdoor Reliability and Motion Sickness Relief
Infinix improves touch response outdoors with Touch Optimization. It claims 95% touch accuracy even in rain or when using a waterproof bag. It also adds Motion Sickness Relief Mode. It uses subtle visual cues to reduce discomfort when you use the phone in a moving car.
14. Remote Enable “Find My Device”
XOS 16 based on Android 16 also adds Remote Enable Find My Device. It keeps tracking active even after someone removes the SIM card.
15. AI Gameshift
Infinix says that Gameshift creates an “Immersive Gaming Zone.” It includes frame interpolation for smoother visuals, Magic Voice Changer to mask your voice in game lobbies, and voice commands for actions like reloading or activating skills.

India Rollout Timeline: When Will You Get It?
Infinix has not announced a complete India rollout schedule yet. The company is expected to ship XOS 16 first on the upcoming Infinix Note 60 series.
Eligible existing devices, including the GT 30 Pro, Note 50 series, and the Zero Flip, will likely receive the update in phased batches throughout the first half of 2026.
If Infinix follows its usual pattern, budget devices in the Hot and Smart series may receive the update much later in the year.
