TL; DR
  • OPPO will be launching a Hasselblad-designed photography kit with the Find X9 and X9 Pro.
  • The kit will include a magnetic grip and perhaps also a professional teleconverter, and it will work with both the base and Pro models.
  • The Find X9 series will launch in China in early October, globally on October 28, and in India in November.

OPPO is doubling down on smartphone photography with the upcoming Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, set to debut next month, in October 2025. The company has confirmed a new collaboration with legendary camera brand Hasselblad to deliver a custom imaging kit, the first of its kind in the industry for base and Pro models.

OPPO’s Flagship Product Manager Zhou Yibao confirmed on Weibo that the kit has been designed and customized directly by Hasselblad, making it the first photography kit created by a camera brand for smartphones. It will include a magnetic photography grip that OPPO says is more convenient and stable than traditional snap-on designs.

Also expected is a Hasselblad professional teleconverter aimed at delivering even superior image quality and resolution. What makes this more significant is that the accessories will not be limited to the Pro model alone. OPPO will also bring them to the standard Find X9, which is a rare move in the flagship smartphone space.

The imaging kit will launch alongside the Find X9 series in China this October, with a global release planned later in the month on the 28th. The Indian release is expected in the first week of November but we don’t know if we’ll get the photography kit here.

Recap: What We Know About the Find X9 Series

Find X9 Pro unofficial render

OPPO has already begun teasing the Find X9 lineup, highlighting design, camera, and display improvements. The bezels are said to be even slimmer than the 1.25 mm borders on the Find X8, making this the narrowest four-sided symmetrical display on the market.

Both models will use flat OLED LTPO panels, with the Find X9 expected to feature a 6.59-inch 2K display and the Find X9 Pro a larger 6.78-inch 1.5K display.

Despite massive batteries—7,025 mAh on the Find X9 at just 7.99 mm thickness and 7,550 mAh on the Find X9 Pro at 8.25 mm—the devices will be quite slim. Both devices will support 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.

On the camera front, the Find X9 will use a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary sensor, a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultra-wide, and a 50MP Samsung JN9 (or GN9) 3X telephoto lens. The Pro model will step up with a 50MP Sony LYT-828 main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a massive 200MP Samsung HP5 3X telephoto periscope.

Powering the series will be MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset with Android 16-based ColorOS 16. Other features include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, multiple layers of water resistance (IP66, IP68, and IP69), and a refined design with premium finishes such as a titanium color option.

Zhou has also emphasized durability improvements and a more comfortable in-hand feel despite the so-called “glacier battery.”

Launch Timeline

The OPPO Find X9 series will debut in China in early October 2025, with a global launch confirmed for October 28. The India launch is expected to follow in November 2025. What do you think about the photography kit? Let me know in the comments below.
