TL; DR
  • The iPhone Duo scored 3,986 in single-core and 11,067 in multi-core in an early Geekbench 7 run on iOS 27.1.
  • The foldable uses the same 6-core A20 Pro as the iPhone 18 Pro, with a reported 4.93GHz base frequency and 12GB of RAM.
  • Apple claims up to 20% faster CPU and 40% faster GPU performance over the A19 Pro. Pre-orders begin October 16, ahead of the October 23 launch.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone appears to match the iPhone 18 Pro in early CPU benchmarks. A Geekbench 7 result for the iPhone Duo, listed under the identifier iPhone19,4, shows a single-core score of 3,986 and a multi-core score of 11,067 on iOS 27.1.

iPhone Duo benchmark scores match the Pro models

The benchmark lists a 6-core CPU, matching the configuration found in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. It also reports a 4.93GHz base frequency and 11.30GB of available memory, pointing to 12GB of RAM.

These scores put the iPhone Duo in line with Apple’s standard Pro models, suggesting the foldable uses the same A20 Pro chip. Benchmark results can vary between runs, though, so a single test doesn’t establish a performance lead or tell us how the phone will perform under sustained workloads.

Apple claims the A20 Pro delivers up to 20% faster CPU performance and up to 40% faster GPU performance compared with the A19 Pro. This Geekbench result only measures CPU performance, so there are no GPU scores to assess yet.

Will the foldable match the iPhone 18 Pro in sustained performance?

Matching the iPhone 18 Pro (review) in a short benchmark doesn’t necessarily mean the iPhone Duo will maintain the same performance under heavier workloads. The foldable has two displays, and its thermal design could affect how long the chip sustains peak speeds.

Heat management under prolonged gaming or other demanding tasks, along with how the system handles the inner and outer displays, will be worth watching. A single Geekbench run can’t answer those questions.

The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable iPhone. It features a matte nano-texture display and carries an IP68 rating. Pre-orders begin October 16, with the phone going on sale October 23.

The early benchmark suggests the iPhone Duo has CPU performance on par with the iPhone 18 Pro, but sustained performance and GPU results will have to wait for more extensive testing.

Apple’s 1TB and 2TB iPhone 18 Pro models reportedly use different NAND storage from the 256GB and 512GB versions. Testing by HOMOLAB found QLC NAND in the higher-capacity models, while the lower-capacity versions continue to use TLC. The difference is largely invisible during everyday use because the QLC storage uses an SLC cache to handle …
