TL; DR
- The Razr 70 Ultra keeps a very similar design, with that large cover display and dual camera setup still in place.
- Thickness goes up slightly this time, coming in at 7.8 mm when unfolded and 15.8 mm when folded, and it’ll feel a bit more with the camera bump.
- The device is expected to launch soon, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
The first proper look at the Motorola Razr 70 Ultra is out now through CAD renders and a 360-degree video, shared by XpertPick with OnLeaks. At first glance, the design feels pretty much the same. You still get the clamshell form factor, that big cover display wrapping around the dual cameras, slim bezels on the inside, and a clean frame. The side-mounted fingerprint scanner is still here, and there’s also a dedicated Moto AI button on the left.

The main change is the size. As per the CAD data, it measures 171.3 x 74.1 x 7.8 mm when unfolded, going up to around 9.6 mm with the camera bump. When folded, it’s 88.0 x 74.1 x 15.8 mm, and around 17.63 mm with the camera module. It’s a bit thicker than the last gen, which was closer to 7.2 mm unfolded, so you will notice it, even if it’s not a huge jump.
The bezels on both the cover and inner screens still look quite thick. The Z Flip7 (review) had slimmer bezels, so I was hoping Motorola would move in that direction, but that isn’t happening. They’re also uneven, with thinner sides and thicker top and bottom, plus slightly inconsistent corner radii.

Anyway, that extra thickness likely means there’s more space being used inside, which could go towards a bigger battery, upgraded cameras, a stronger hinge, or better cooling. We don’t know yet. Internally, upgrades are expected even though nothing is confirmed yet. A newer Snapdragon flagship chip is almost certain, likely the 8 Elite Gen 5.
